KHAITE Lands in Dover Street Market Singapore
New York-based label KHAITE carries signature pieces from its Fall/Winter 2022 Collection to Singapore through a partnership with DSMS.
Dover Street Market, a global multi-retailer known for its experimental visual merchandising and conceptual displays, has taken on a new collaboration for its Singapore division. Womenswear label KHAITE (pronounced Kate) has set up an installation in the large Dempsey store.
At its core, KHAITE is a brand that plays with duality – masculinity and femininity, strength and softness, past and future. The contrasting elements come through in its garments, designed by creative director Catherine Holstein. Embracing the often-paradoxical qualities of the label extends to the installation on display at Dover Street Market Singapore (DSMS). Designed by Griffin Frazen, monolithic forms surround seven key looks from the brand’s Fall/Winter 2022 Collection, and present sleek curves enticing the mind to ponder perspective and scale.
The looks presented in the experimental space tap into the juxtaposition so synonymous with KHAITE. A soft, ruffled cropped top sits atop a high-waisted black leather skirt, their textures reconciled through Khaite’s balanced craftsmanship. The liquid qualities of a tiered silk dress strikingly oppose the bubble-esque forms of a cropped puffer jacket.
In a space like DSMS, the nuances of KHAITE's looks redefine the sensibilities of the progressive and modern woman. An intricate balance of factors so opposite from each other, KHAITE x DSMS is a contemporary display of fashion that transcends simple garments.
KHAITE is displayed at Dover Street Market Singapore from now till 13 September, with its pieces available for pre-order.
