From the same woman who brought you the jade egg and the "This Smells Like My Vagina" candle, Gwyneth Paltrow took to Instagram over our recent Valentine's Day weekend to spread the word of the newest Goop product: a vibrator.
Just days after the item launched online, the actress shared a photo of herself in her pink Ralph Lauren gown at the 1999 Academy Awards. However, rather than holding her Oscar, she replaced the little gold man with a graphic of her brand's new sex toy. She captioned the photo, "Beat you to it...I know how to meme too, guys. Head to @goop to see what all the buzz is about."
The new product, dubbed Double-Sided Wand Vibrator, costs US$95 (about S$125.60), and has already sold out within a day. The product consists of a ball-shaped wand for external vibrations and a thinner and more flexible end for clitoral or more intimate stimulation. Each side also offers eight pulsating patterns that vary in intensity, adding up to a total of 64 different combinations to choose from.
The brand also installed a Led screen to show the battery life of the vibrator that allows you to see exactly how much charge is left. The Goop team spent 18 months developing the product and intended to create a toy that could be left on the bedside table as an "art object", if you want.
Goop’s announcement of the product included an equally cheeky caption: “We’ve tested a lot of vibrators over the years — a job we take seriously, knowing that great vibrators lead to great orgasms. Basically, it’s a pleasure."
