Father's Day Restaurants to Dine at with Dad

He may not show it, but dad likes to be pampered every now and then too

Andaz Singapore

Does your dad like beer? Of course, he does. On 17 June, take him to any of the three bars at Andaz Singapore (Alley on 25, 665°F and Mr Stork) for 2 hours of free-flow draft beer. We're partial to the rooftop bar, Mr Stork for its 360-degree view of the city. It's a cool spot to sip (or chug) some Andaz Pale Ale — an exclusive light and smooth beer made in collaboration with local microbrewery, Red Dot Brewhouse.

Where: 5 Fraser Street, 189354

Reserve: Here or tel: +65 6408 1288.

Yellow Pot

Located in Six Senses Duxton, Yellow Pot serves classic and innovative Chinese cuisine made with sustainably-sourced ingredients. Think dishes like Braised Duck Spring Roll made with local duck and Wok-Seared Organic Grass-Fed Beef Tenderloin. The 50-seater gold and black oriental themed restaurant has accents of old China with the glamour of art deco. Semi-private dining rooms available.

Where: Yellow Pot, 88 Duxton Road, Singapore 089540.

Reserve: tel: +65 6914 1420.

Lawry's

If dad's a classic kinda guy when it comes to food, some good ol' steak is a safe bet — and nobody does prime rib like Lawry's. The Father's Day four-course special starts with The Famous Original Spinning Bowl Salad, followed by Truffle Mushroom Soup, a choice of main (prime rib, salmon or filet mignon) and either chocolate cake or apple crumble for dessert.

Where: 333A Orchard Road, #04-01/31, Mandarin Gallery, Mandarin Orchard

Reserve: E: reservations@lawrys.com.sg or tel: 6836 3333

Neon Pigeon

Izakayas in Singapore come and go, but Neon Pigeon has been around for about 3 years and remains one of our faves. With 12 new items on the spring menu, it's a great time to take dad down for some Jap-inspired dishes and cocktails. We recommend the very umami Spicy Baby Corn, Grilled Barramundi with miso and spiced mentaiyaki as well as the Duck Tonkatsu – a twist on the traditional fried pork cutlet.

Where: 1 Keong Saik Road #01-03, Singapore 089109

CÉ LA VI

Recognised as one of the top party spots in Singapore, CÉ LA VI has also stepped up its culinary offerings since executive chef Joseph Sergentakis joined this year. For Father's Day, he's curated 3-course lunch and 4-course dinner menus paired with Johnnie Walker Blue Label whisky. Not enough booze? CÉ LA VI is also offering three special cocktails made with the whisky for the occassion.

Summerlong

Breezy evenings are perfect to kick back with a cocktail at one of the al fresco spots along the Robertson Quay riverside. Start with the Summerlong Spritz (a refreshing grapefruit and vermouth concoction) at Summerlong, followed by some of their Mediterranean dishes, which are perfect for sharing. Try the Hummus Flight, Persian Fried Chicken, Whole Roasted Seabass and Roasted Garlic Prawns.
