As March comes to an end, we look back on our special project for our 10th Anniversary issue. We gave 10 photographers what every creative mind longs for – freedom of expression. Our only request: to be inspired by a word that contains the letter ‘X’

&ldquo;Let the styling do the talking,&rdquo; said Ivanho Harlim, when asked what&nbsp;his thought process was behind his shoot title. &ldquo;XXXL is something you see everywhere in fashion right now.&rdquo; Indeed, from Balenciaga to Stella McCartney, the manifestation of the mode du jour has seen the proliferation of oversized collars, large 3D design elements, blown-up shapes and loose tailoring. &ldquo;XXXL resurfaced as an &lsquo;anti-fashion&rsquo; statement, the same way it did decades ago when popularised by brands like Maison Martin Margiela and Yohji Yamamoto&rdquo; adds Ivanho. &ldquo;We wanted the photographs to re ect this sentiment, an &lsquo;as-is&rsquo; aesthetic that perhaps moves away from fashion&rsquo;s usual pomp.&rdquo;
