Exploring the ancient Silk Road for a good cause, the inspiring team of women behind CRIB held their second gala eventl at the Shangri-La Hotel Singapore

On May 3, over 540 inspiring entrepreneurs, business owners, and guests came together at the Shangri-La Hotel&nbsp;for the second annual <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/Events%20and%20parties/women-entrepreneurs-business-networking-events-crib-ball-2017-annual-gala-dinner-3-may-shangri-la-hotel-singapore" target="_blank">CRIB Ball 2017</a>,&nbsp;organised by the social enterprise Creating Responsible and Innovative Businesses (Crib). Honouring the trade route known as the Silk Road, the theme of the night was &ldquo;The Empress&rsquo; Journey&rdquo; which gave guests a chance to dress up to the nines and&nbsp;try their hand at interpreting the sartorial styles of ancient China, India, Persia, and Arabia.

The night kicked off with an introduction of the night&rsquo;s lineup and dance performances that entertained guests. A live auction was also held, giving&nbsp;guests&nbsp;a chance to bid on lots such as accommodation options by&nbsp;<a href="http://www.luxuo.com/properties/interiors/private-destination-club-afini-provides-a-home-sweet-home-in-sydney-australia.html" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Afini</a>&nbsp;and other luxury items. Along with the night&rsquo;s entertainment, the ball held a competition for the best-dressed guests of the evening, which saw L&#39;Officiel&#39;s very own squad girl,&nbsp;Paige Parker, and Mehtab Ahluwalia taking the crown. Even with the style stakes set high, guests feasted on a&nbsp;fusion-inspired&nbsp;inspired&nbsp;four-course dinner crafted by the Shangri-La Hotel, which included Miso Foie Gras, Thai Rice Noodles, and&nbsp;Basil Chili Panna Cotta.&nbsp;

It wasn&rsquo;t all fun and&nbsp;games, though - the evening was also an opportunity for the <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/living/women-entrepreneurs-in-singapore-elaine-kim-founder-co-working-space-trehaus-crib-society" target="_blank">Crib founders</a>&nbsp;to shine the light on the beneficiary charity,&nbsp;<a href="http://www.emancipaction.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">EmancipAction</a>. With the aim of providing assistance to the young women and children who have been abused and exploited in the commercial sex trade, it was certainly a night filled with a good cause.
