MRIGlobal has carried out a study on AIRFREE® Air Sterilisers’ ability in the deactivation of aerolised SARS-CoV-2.

The story of the Portugal-based manufacturer AIRFREE&reg; Products Electronics SA begins with a father&rsquo;s love and care for his son.&nbsp;Founder Carlos Matias developed the patented air sterilising&nbsp;system to tackle his son&rsquo;s recurrent allergic crisis after rigorously searching for a cure to no avail. &quot;It takes a problem to find a solution. That is what happened at the origin of the Airfree business and other patents I developed,&quot; says&nbsp;Matias.

&quot;All patents must have a trigger. I remembered from my childhood that milk used to be boiled to kill viruses and bacteria so, I had that in the back of my mind: boil the air. One day, when visiting a ceramic factory for other reasons, a piece of ceramic material called my attention, and that was the start of the Thermo-Dynamic Sterilisation&nbsp;(TSS&trade;) technology.&quot;

The company&rsquo;s creations are now distributed in over 60 countries around the world to bring serenity to families and communities and protect them from the uninvited enemy in the air.&nbsp;With the pandemic still looming globally, there is no better excuse to store one of these devices that can protect you and your loved ones at home.

The AIRFREE&reg; Air Sterilisers&nbsp;have gone through rigorous trials and testing to be&nbsp;certified of having&nbsp;the&nbsp;effectiveness in deactivating 80.5% of the SARS-CoV-2 virus when released into a controlled chamber by MRIGlobal,&nbsp;a world-leading non-for-profit&nbsp;technological and scientific research organisation based in the USA that specialises in&nbsp;research and development, product testing and evaluation, laboratory operations and training, biosafety and biosecurity, and international collaborative research in areas of infectious disease and biological threats.

What really makes the AIRFREE&reg; Air Steriliser stand&nbsp;out from the rest is its TSS&trade; technology. &ldquo;Most other air sterilisers on the market capture airborne microorganisms using a HEPA filter, where they remain alive for some time,&rdquo; says Daniel Matias, the Global Sales Officer.

&ldquo;The AIRFREE&reg;&rsquo;s proprietary TSS&trade; which heats up to a temperature of 200 degrees Centigrade was created to silently draw bacteria, viruses, and other organic organisms into the ceramic core heated ducts to be destroyed by heat purifying the room, not by just capturing without destroying, and most importantly without any filters to replace.&rdquo;
