Swarovski’s Chroma Twist Collection Is Versatile and Champions Circularity
With ReCreated™ Crystals and metals from recycled sources, the pieces can also be flipped over to reveal a different look.
Swarovski's latest collection is called Chroma Twist for good reason — twist away at the pieces as it is a range designed with circular design principles at its core. Imagined by Global Creative Director, Giovanna Engelbert, the fashion jewellery styles are based on elements of the Austrian brand's Circular Design Framework, developed in partnership with the Centre for Sustainable Fashion, a leading research centre at the University of the Arts London — the framework's goal is to cut wastage, maintain the usability of pieces, and increase the longevity of the styles.
Yes, six new designs of Chroma Twist are not only crafted in lower impact materials (namely Swarovski ReCreated™ Crystals and metals from recycled sources), they have been designed to be transformable — one is able flip each over to reveal different crystal colours and increase their wear and versatility. For example, a pendant is blue on one side and pink on the other, while a cocktail ring is adorned with a cushion cut stone that alternates between a rosy pink crystal and one in lush green. An all-around necklace switches instantly from green to blue, when you turn the piece from one side to the other.
