Escape to Europe (Day 3)

L’Officiel Singapore Deputy Editor ends his whirlwind three-day trip to Europe in the romantic canals of Venice.

The San Marco Campanile up close. It was a day of R&R, so I did what anyone in Venice would do – be a tourist!
Now, what’s a trip to Italy without a gelato or two? This was my first of two double-scoop treats in one hour – a combination of pistachio and tiramisu.
One of the final views I had of Venice from the terrace of the Hotel Bauer Palazzo that faces the Grand Canal. That’s the breathtaking Santa Maria della Salute – a 17th century basilica – on the left. Glad I had time to cross the canal to make a visit there and see the painfully beautiful frescoes by Titian and his contemporaries.
Reflecting on life in front of the Chiesa di San Moisè, and being grateful for having experienced the wonders of Europe in just three days.
What a spectacular sight to behold from the sky as I departed from Venice Marco Polo Airport – a plan view of the Floating City! And that, dear reader, is how you traverse three countries in three days!
