BACK IN MAY 2016, Kate Winslet found herself in Saint-Imier, the idyllic Swiss municipality famous for its sweeping views of the Chasseral mountain and more importantly, for being the birthplace of Longines. The reason for her visit? To select a watch that will be re-issued, with proceeds going to the Golden Hat Foundation – a non-profit organisation co-founded by Winslet herself in 2010 to raise awareness on autism.
So it was within the archives of Longines Museum when she chanced upon a particular timepiece that caught her eye and sealed the deal, as it were. The piece in question was a yellow gold watch from the Flagship collection – a fitting choice by the Ambassador of Elegance, considering that the collection celebrates its milestone 60th anniversary this year. And thus, a legacy was born.
