Dior Joaillerie's Latest Timepiece is the Epitome of Chic
Meet the house of Dior’s La D de Dior Black Ultramatte. In full black, the new watch is the picture of sophistication.
The creator of the New Look, Monsieur Dior was always one for class, popularising hyperfeminine silhouettes and materials coupled with innovative and intricate touches. One of his go-to elements for achieving that signature elegance? Black.
It seems obvious enough — there's nothing like a solid, strong colour to signal timelessness. From couture to bags, the neutrality and sleekness of black seem to have grown synonymous with the message of modernity of Dior. As with the latest addition to the La D de Dior line of timepieces, the full-black ensemble is one suited for any and all occasions.
Monsieur Dior said it best himself in his 1954 book The Little Dictionary of Fashion, where he described the intense colour to be apt for any age, time and event. Intimately intertwined with the founder himself, the darkest of hues is found on the La D de Dior Black Ultramatte, as envisioned by Victoire de Castellane, the artistic director of Dior Joaillerie.
The La D de Dior is a Maison staple, a timepiece collection spanning two decades. Swiss watchmaking meets French craftsmanship in this style, which was first envisaged as a “ribbon that tells time”. With matte black that shrouds the watch, it is contemporary and classic all at once.
The 34-mm La D de Dior Black Ultramatte features a dial adorned with three black-diamond hour markers. The distinctive Satine texture wraps around the mesh steel bracelet, delicately embellishing any wrist. The new style is also available with a black-diamond-set bezel: 52 black diamonds line the circumference of the piece, playing on the radiance of the dark gems, perfect for an added layer of glam.
The La D de Dior Black Ultramatte timepiece will be launched worldwide on 30 September 2022, and will be available in Dior boutiques in Singapore.
