Dior Beauty Honours Friends of the House: Yuna Kim, Sharon Alexie and Maye Musk
Ambassadors and friends of the Maison will have a rose bush named after them in the new Dior Rose Garden.
Never underestimate the extent Dior will go to show their appreciation for representatives and friends of the house. This time, Korean figure skater Yuna Kim, French model Sharon Alexie and Canadian model and author Maye Musk, along with ambassadors – Anya Taylor-Joy and Yara Shahidi – will be honoured at the Maison's new Dior Rose Garden, each with a rose bush in their name.
Now in bloom, the garden's exquisite Granville flowers will blossom and lead a fuller life by embodying the key ingredient for Dior Beauty's Prestige Skincare Line.
"Seeing how dedicated the garden was to roses really let me feel Christian Dior's passionate love for roses and gardens," says Yuna Kim as she explores the plot of land. "I could feel how this peaceful heaven must have given Christian Dior his love for roses and inspired all of his work, from skincare and perfume to couture."
As many do, the skater views flowers as a symbol of beauty and a work of wonder created by nature. "They are very beautiful, but at the same time, making those flowers bloom requires harmony and mutual respect between nature and people."
For Sharon Alexie, understanding the importance of biodiversity and the wonders of nature must be considered when exploring Rose de Granville. "When you are in the garden, you absolutely understand the world of Christian Dior and his obsession with the rose," she begins.
"Everything is based on biodiversity. Thanks to the insects and to the natural elements that are around the garden, like the pond that you can see or other plants."
The history and natural benefits of the rose are two big components that impress Maye Musk. "What they are discovering with the rose could help not only for cosmetics but for health and medical conditions," she explains.
"The home of Dior and the love of roses has created this lab which will help science. I just think it's so professionally done, and it's beautifully done."
