Viva La Viva: Salvatore Ferragamo's Viva Bow Bag Is A Paragon Of Contemporary Elegance
It’s 2020, and matching your handbag to your shoes might seem like an outdated concept, but Salvatore Ferragamo is here to change your mind. Hot on the heels of the launch of its Viva pump, a reimagination of the iconic Vara created by Fiamma Ferragamo in 1979, this season the luxury house has introduced a new line of leather accessories designed to complement and elevate the shoe — the Viva Bow bag.
Reflecting the aesthetic lineage of the heritage label, the Viva Bow bag gives prominence to the signature buckled bow detail that is near-synonymous with the Ferragamo name, now in leather instead of grosgrain, and with a tonal lacquered clasp instead of plain metal. Magnified so as to make a bold statement, the bow graces the front of the pillow-like, padded silhouette, which is constructed in ultra-soft calfskin and finished with visible stitched edges.
As practical as it is chic (a tough combination to find), the bag also features two interior compartments roomy enough for all your daily essentials, and a detachable strap that allows it to be carried in a variety of ways: over the shoulder, cross-body, and as a clutch. Choose from classic colourways such as black and ivory, or buoyant hues of blush pink, sky blue, and “nebbiolo” wine purple.
