Under the Frick&rsquo;s ornate ceilings, <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/jewellery/louis-vuitton-mythica-jewelry-collection-2026" title="Stars Celebrate New Louis Vuitton Mythica High Jewellery Collection in Morocco" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Louis Vuitton</a> returned to New York with the feeling of rediscovering an old obsession. Six years after its last show in the city, the French maison chose one of the Upper East Side&rsquo;s most celebrated cultural landmarks to present its latest Cruise collection, while also marking the beginning of a new partnership with the newly restored museum.
The setting was carefully chosen. Once the home of steel magnate Henry Clay Frick, the museum recently reopened following major renovations. Rich wood panelling, gilded interiors and masterpieces of European art created the perfect backdrop for Ghesqui&egrave;re&rsquo;s vision. His collection explored contrasts at every turn: past and future, extravagance and restraint, sport and sophistication.
Set to a vibrant soundtrack, models moved through the galleries like modern heroines from a cinematic New York fantasy. The influence of the 1980s appeared in oversized silhouettes and bold colour palettes, balanced by clean, minimalist tailoring with architectural precision. Romantic ruffles sat alongside sculpted leather pieces, while Medici collars elevated sharply cut biker jackets. Bright flashes of orange, electric pink and acid green were softened by deeper tones of plum, teal and powder pink.

At Louis Vuitton, details are never incidental, and Cruise 2027 proved exactly that. Zebra-print belts, graphic embroidery and exaggerated lapels gave each look its own distinct character. The bags shifted between refined elegance and playful extravagance. Some referenced Greek columns, while others resembled boxing gloves or boomboxes, paying tribute to the city&rsquo;s vibrant urban culture.
The collection also embraced contemporary fashion&rsquo;s growing focus on bare legs. Flowing mini skirts, ultra-short shorts, tailored Bermuda shorts and cropped trousers created a wardrobe that felt dynamic, youthful and athletic. Whether paired with towering heels or metallic trainers, every look carried the same assured confidence.
Art, ever-present within the Frick Collection&rsquo;s walls, naturally became part of the collection itself. Graphic prints inspired by the work of Keith Haring brought the raw, energetic spirit of 1980s New York into several looks. Through these references, Ghesqui&egrave;re connected the city&rsquo;s cultural legacy with a distinctly modern vision of fashion.

The front row reflected Louis Vuitton&rsquo;s star power. Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Cate Blanchett, Emma Stone, Emily Blunt, Alicia Vikander, Jennifer Connelly and Felix from Stray Kids attended the show, witnessing a powerful conversation between fashion, art and architecture.
