Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez remind us to have fun.

Loewe&rsquo;s Fall/Winter 2026 show was a significant step forward for Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez. In their second season at the home, they appeared more at ease with the codes of the Maison and more clear about where they wanted to go. The backdrop, staged at the Ch&acirc;teau de Vincennes and adorned with Cosima von Bonin&rsquo;s gigantic sea creatures, conveyed a sense of humour without detracting from the clothing.

What made the collection captivating was how the designers reinterpreted familiar pieces into something unexpected. Slippers, pyjama tops, parkas, and scarves all signalled a shift in attitude. A glossy dress with a latex-like finish transformed something delicate into something a little odd where as inflated clothing enhanced volume, but the shapes appeared intentional. The humour was present, but it remained grounded in the design.
Material was an important consideration. The Maison&rsquo;s leather expertise has long been one of its greatest assets, and McCollough and Hernandez put it to good use. Coats made with looped lacquered leather had texture and edges, while tartan knits made with very thin leather yarn showed technical skill without being cold. Gradient shearling and padded plaid scarves, which are softer, additional warmth while keeping the collection&rsquo;s sharper edge.

Colour gave the show momentum. Saturated tones added lift to the larger silhouettes while keeping the lineup flowing. Volume, too, was handled thoughtfully. &nbsp; The designers pushed shape just far enough to create a statement, then drew back before the clothing became too bulky. That restraint allowed the stronger looks to land with greater impact.

The accessories contributed to a more focused point of view. The Amazona 180, produced to commemorate the Maison&rsquo;s 180th anniversary, used a more whimsical approach. The Flamenco in blue and white intarsia paid homage to the fashion brand&rsquo;s artisan legacy while remaining contemporary. The new Whisker bag stood out the most, with its rigid top and softer body, which balanced polish with a hint of oddness.
