Life In Technicolour: The Furla 1927 Tone-On-Tone Collection
Not to be a Debbie Downer, but 2020 hasn’t exactly gotten off to the best start, what with political upheaval, economic uncertainty, deadly bushfires, a pandemic virus, and all that. The world can certainly seem like a dreary place at times, which is why we need all the colour we can get. And as luck would have it, Furla has just the right dose of that to brighten the forecast for the coming months. The Spring/Summer 2020 season sees the Italian label introduce a new series of tone-on-tone miniature crossbody bags, as part of the Furla 1927 line of leather goods.
Paying homage to the tradition of fine craftsmanship begun by Aldo Furlanetto nearly a century ago, the Furla 1927 collection highlights the recently-unveiled Arch logo, which graces the front of each silhouette. Drawing on the famed porticoes of Bologna, where the house was founded in the ‘20s, the Arch is the link between past, present, and future, and embodies the brand’s spirit of passion, inclusivity, creativity, and joy.
The tone-on-tone series comprises creations in soft candyfloss colours as well as strong contrast shades, such as rosa chiaro (baby pink), crema (buttery yellow), fuoco (flame red), and nero (black). Taking shape in textured Ares leather, the Mini Crossbody is enlivened by leather tassels that dangle from the foldover flap, which give the timeless design a youthful touch.
