Back To The Future: Furla 1927
Shakespeare once wrote that “what’s past is prologue”. The same reasoning could be said of Furla. The Italian house has always embraced the philosophy of looking back to look forward, that is to say, remaining rooted in tradition while evolving to suit the times. There is perhaps no better expression of this ethos than the brand’s new line of bags, Furla 1927.
The collection celebrates the tradition of fine craftsmanship started by Aldo Furlanetto in 1927 with a range of chic and contemporary crossbody bags. Featuring 3 main styles – the Pochette, the Crossbody, and the Saddle – the designs represent a modern take on Furla’s rich heritage in maroquinerie.
Crafted in materials like smooth calf leather, printed calf or goat leather, and embossed calf leather, the bags come in a variety of colours including talco, cognac, burgundy, and black. The cornerstone of the collection is the new arch logo, which takes shape as a silver clasp on each bag. Drawing on the famed porticos of Bologna, the city where Furla was founded, the arch is both ornamental and functional.
