For his Gucci debut, Demna turns the runway into a lively boutique filled with sharp tailoring, sensual details and familiar house codes.

Demna introduced his vision for <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/gucci-primavera-fashion-campaign-bts-jin-aespa-ningning-xiao-xhan" title="BTS’ Jin, Aespa’s Ningning and Xiao Zhan Lead Gucci’s Primavera Campaign" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Gucci</a> with the Spring/Summer 2027 women’s and men’s collections in Milan, transforming the fashion show into an imagined <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/jin-rm-custom-gucci-bts-world-tour-arirang" title="See BTS Jin's and RM's Custom Gucci Looks for BTS WORLD TOUR ARIRANG" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Gucci</a> boutique. The setting brought together the polished atmosphere of a luxury shop with the energy of a social gathering, creating a collection that feels both glamorous and deliberately irreverent.
The guest list reflected that mix. Billkin, PP Krit, Song Weilong, Cardi B, <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/chinese-actress-tian-xi-wei-pursuit-of-jade-gucci-campaign-interview-fashion-celebrity" title="Interview: Chinese Actress Tian Xi Wei on Gucci, Pursuit of Jade, and What's Next" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tian Xiwei</a> and Park Gyu-young were among those attending, while Poppy Delevingne, Isabella Ferrari and Osanna Visconti walked the runway.
The idea behind the show was surprisingly simple: what if a Gucci boutique became the setting for the entire collection? Rather than presenting the clothes as untouchable objects, Demna imagined them being discovered, tried on and bought. The runway therefore felt less like a formal presentation and more like a visit to a particularly glamorous shop.

That approach also allowed Demna to play with Gucci’s long history. The house was founded by Guccio Gucci after his experience working at London’s Savoy, where he observed wealthy travellers and their luggage. For Spring/Summer 2027, Demna looks back to that world of luxury and status without simply reproducing its familiar imagery.
Instead, recognisable Gucci details are mixed with sharper, more contemporary pieces. The horsebit, web stripe and polished leather remain part of the vocabulary, but they are used alongside clothes that feel more relaxed, provocative and unexpected.
Tailoring plays an important role throughout the collection. Clean, structured jackets and trousers are paired with revealing cuts and sensual details, creating a contrast between polished dressing and a more daring attitude. Traditional fabrics are given a modern edge through sharper silhouettes, while more provocative pieces stop the tailoring from feeling too formal.
This push and pull between elegance and seduction is what gives the collection its character. A precise suit might be cut away or styled with something unexpected, while classic Gucci accessories add a recognisable touch to otherwise modern looks.

The models also helped bring the boutique concept to life. Poppy Delevingne, Isabella Ferrari and Osanna Visconti walked the runway with an easy, confident attitude, appearing less like traditional runway models and more like women browsing the shelves of an exclusive Gucci store.
For Demna, Gucci’s heritage is therefore not something to simply preserve. It is something to play with. The Spring/Summer 2027 collection takes the house’s familiar symbols and puts them into a new setting, mixing classic luxury with sensuality, attitude and a little bit of provocation.
The result is a Gucci collection that feels less interested in minimalism and more interested in personality. By turning the runway into a boutique, Demna makes the clothes feel immediate and desirable, while giving Gucci’s familiar codes a distinctly new attitude.
