After 3 years, Rodolfo Pagliaunga and Jil Sander have decided to part ways. The Fall/Winter 2017 womenswear collection has been the last one designed for the brand by the creative director. Audiences may also note that within the brand's history, its founder has returned and left the company three times.

While the house is commonly know for precise tailoring and cutting, Pagliaunga's designs allowed more movement with ensembles that became looser and looser towards his tenure's end. Under his direction, Jil Sander clothes became less clinical and more emotional. Although he borrowed silhouettes from 20 to 30 years past, the creative director and house remained unbelievably modern.

“We decided to terminate our professional journey with Rodolfo Paglialunga together with the designer himself. We want to deeply thank Paglialunga for his great job at Jil Sander and the respect he paid to the brand’s DNA.” Alessandra Bettari, CEO
