The Fondation Louis Vuitton Goes Online With A Digital Programme
With the need for social distancing across the world, many cultural and historical sites have been forced to close their doors for the time being, but museums such as the Fondation Louis Vuitton are taking their exhibitions, masterclasses, and performances online so that now, everyone across the globe can enjoy them.
As part of its #FLVfromhome programme, the cultural site has planned for three digital events set every week, with Wednesdays at 12 midnight, Fridays at 2.30am and Sunday at 11.30pm, Singapore time.
The building comes in an innovative and poetic style of renowned American architect Frank Gehry, in a strong approach to the future that defies conventional construction, and is echoed in everything they do at the Fondation Louis Vuitton.
Opened in Paris in 2014, the LVMH Group created the Fondation Louis Vuitton to promote art, culture and heritage. This great architectural work is "a space that provokes a dialogue with the public and offers artists and intellectuals a revolutionary platform for debate and reflection"; says president of the group Bernard Arnault.
The institution, in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, has presented a digital itinerary. "Each week, the Fondation offers you the possibility to watch on Facebook and YouTube an exhibition, concert and a masterclass that has been presented in its grounds since its 2014 opening" it states on the website.
Apart from its digital programmes, you can also download the Fondation Louis Vuitton app (available in apple ios and google app store) to virtually explore the work of art that is the Fondation Louis Vuitton itself. The app also includes virtual walkthroughs and exclusive information of selected artworks
