Much can be stated for the appeal of medical aesthetics. Besides the immediate physical changes that are promised on paper, aesthetic treatments can also be said to impact social perception and one’s psychological well-being, according to a study by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Inc.

A.M Aesthetics’ founder Dr Terence Tea tends to agree with the study’s results. “Aesthetic treatments have made me more confident and optimistic,” shares the entrepreneur. “My appearance and personality have also changed along this journey of transformation.” So much so that Dr Tea decided to open his own aesthetic clinic to help others with their relationship with skincare, at any stage of life. According to Dr Tea, the perfect time to start going for aesthetic treatments is in one’s twenties. “At this age, we begin to lose the collagen in our body, and we begin to gain fine lines due to factors like lack of sleep, stress, smoking and drinking,” says A.M Aesthetics’ founder.

“My mantra is that a daily skincare routine is just as important as regular facials and aesthetic treatments,” he says. “Aesthetic treatments include non-invasive procedures such as HIFU, Pico-laser, and our latest launch — the award-winning treatment Sylfirm X, which helps skin rejuvenation, to firm and brighten skin, and to prevent skin ageing. And most of our medical grade treatments are performed by qualified doctors.”

He continues: “Once or twice a year, I do minimally invasive treatments such as fillers and botox to enhance my features, prevent wrinkle formation, and increase the skin’s collagen. As we age, we begin to lose the natural collagen in our body. Again, for maintenance, I would highly recommend non-invasive treatments like HIFU, Sylfirm X, and even regular hydra facials to improve your skin.”

We also asked Dr Tea what sets A.M Aesthetics’ award-winning Spa Awards treatment apart from other rejuvenating procedures. “Sylfirm X is the world’s first FDA-approved Dual Wave Radio Frequency Microneedling Device,” he says. “What sets Sylfirm X apart is the Sylfirm X pulsed wave. It is a fractional RF micro-needling device featuring pulsed wave (PW) and continuous wave (CW) modes, while most other Radio Frequency micro-needling devices only have a continuous wave mode.”

In short, Sylfirm X uses its Pulsed Wave Mode and 300-micron gold micro-needles, which can penetrate the skin at a depth of 300 micrometres to four millimetres, to reduce premature ageing, tackle hyperpigmentation, and reduce uneven skin tone. “Other systems may require a different tip to address the shorter depth, but Sylfirm X doesn’t require that, setting it apart from the rest,” he adds.

To Dr Tea, research and development play a huge part in operating a successful aesthetic clinic. “We are one of the largest aesthetic chains in Singapore and Malaysia, and are equipped with the latest technologies, which are supported by constant training for our doctors and aestheticians.” And it is those qualities that allow A.M Aesthetics’ patients to embark on a journey of achieving the skin they most desire.
