Hello Upper East Siders, you better start sending in tips because Gossip Girl is back to bite. A new entourage of Manhattan’s elite rich kids will roam the scene with many new penthouses to explore and plenty of debutant balls to ruin. The reboot will be an extension of the last series, focusing on a completely new cast, and there’s been no word as to whether we’ll be seeing Lonely Boy or Lord Bass this season. So what can we expect? Here’s the official summary of the series:

"Eight years after the original website went dark, a new generation of New York private school teens are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl. The prestige series will address just how much social media—and the landscape of New York itself—has changed in the intervening years."

The 10-episode series will be available on HBO Max, a streaming service provided by Warner Media, but a premiere date has not yet been released. Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, the show’s original creators, are signed on as executive producers for the new series, and Joshua Safran, a producer of the CW show, is writing the new storyline.

"It's just a new look at this particular society in New York, the idea being that society changes constantly," Joshua Safran explained to The Hollywood Reporter. "So how has this world changed, how has social media and its effect changed? All of those things allow us to look at the world 12 years on as opposed to just redoing the story. None of us are interested in just redoing a story."

You may have thought that Gossip Girl’s best days were behind her, but this old girl has got some new tricks up her sleeve.
