Kim Jones has introduced much to the Dior Men since the beginning of his tenure, from the logomania buzz, high-sole sneakers and graphic animals in previous collections. And now, Jones brings us back to classics with the launch of Dior Men Tailoring capsule collection.
Calling this time for a reset on maximalism and a return to the classic art of couture tailoring, the collection is coalesced with Dior Men’s iconic house codes of formal aesthetics that meets Jone’s contemporary vision through a reimagination of the classics. The result is an assortment of reinvented smart-casual attire.
As part of the capsule collection, Kim Jones and friends of the house, which includes actors Arnauld Valois, Jérémie Laheurt, talent and entrepreneur Younes Bendjima and artist Kailand Morris, son of Stevie Wonder, were photographed by Brett Lloyd in the collection.
Designed to accompany men throughout their daily lives, whatever the occasion or mood, the collection consists of three jackets and three pant styles, each available in three clothes which are all designed for mix-and-match pairing.
A double-breasted jacket in a structured cut, with a signature cross strap, a single-breasted three-button jacket and a Harrington-style zip down jacket comes with chinos, slim cut suit trousers and trousers with an elastic waistband. Fabrics include a plain black virgin wool and mohair blend, a textured micro houndstooth and a Prince of Wales check.
The items are adorned with a matte blck CD icon pin, buttons borrowed from the bar suit and a lining that comes patterned with the cannage motif and a matching interior button.
