Hollywood’s Favourite Fitness Studio CruBox Opens in Singapore
The Kardashians are fans. So are Usher, Hailey Baldwin and Nicole Scherzinger.
Hollywood’s highly raved about fitness studio CruBox has finally landed in Asia with its first space in Singapore at Duxton Road. But what does a boxing session at CruBox entail and why do celebrities keep going back for more?
Founded by siblings Valerie, Bebe and Calvin Ding, CruBox is the second fitness concept by the trio to launch in Singapore after spin studio CruCycle, which opened its doors a little more than four years ago. Both concepts are grounded in fostering a community spirit and both feature judgement-free, dark room experiences with electrifying beats for a fun and inclusive workout.
CruBox offers group fitness boxing sessions for all levels with its signature or themed (think Hip Hop Wednesdays or 90’s remixes) classes, each with 36 spots, for a unique full body workout that choreographs boxing moves to a killer playlist. For those seeking a more exclusive session, you’ll be happy to know they organise Private Sweat Sessions, too.
All classes follow an in-house programme, rooted in fundamental boxing techniques, developed in conjunction with professional boxing trainer Julian Chua who has trained under world-renowned trainer Freddie Roach. Other professional boxers who have trained with Freddie Roach include Mike Tyson, Manny Pacquiao and Amir Khan. Each 50-minute workout combines high-intensity cardio with strength training, using authentic boxing techniques distilled from professional fighting manoeuvres.
An intense workout? Definitely. But when you’re boxing to the beat in a dark room reminiscent of a disco-dance party, time whizzes by and you’re having fun – a totally addictive experience that will keep you coming back for more.
CruBox is located at L4, 68 Duxton Road.
