Less than a month after hinting at retirement via Twitter, Nicki Minaj is back with a new feature on PnB Rock’s latest single, ‘Fendi’. The rapper shouts out the Italian fashion house by declaring “it’s Fendi, it’s poppin’, and we on and poppin’”. The song comes just in time as the singer prepares to launch a capsule collection in collaboration with the brand next month.
Taking its name from the lyrics of Minaj’s hit single ‘Chun Li’, the Fendi Prints On capsule is a 127-piece collection that fuses Fendi’s playful character with Minaj’s bold sense of style. High-end glamour meets streetwear in figure-hugging silhouettes juxtaposed against oversized outerwear, with the iconic FF monogram as the key all-over pattern. As you would expect from the rapper, hot pink is one of the dominating colours, combined with shimmering metallics and rich textures. From bodycon dresses to tracksuits, puffer coats, and bikinis, the collection is as eccentric and flamboyant as Minaj herself.
Of course, this being Fendi, accessories play a starring role in the capsule. The signature Baguette and Peekaboo shapes are updated with silver sequins and fluorescent pink hues, as are multi-accessory belt bags and the new Kan U style. The range of footwear includes FFrame court shoes, high-top sneakers, and chunky moon boots, while sunglasses are embellished with crystal Ffreedom details. Silver and gold hoop earrings in the shape of the FF logo round out the collection. There are also pieces for men and children, so your whole family can cop the Fendi Prints On look should you wish.
