What do you get when you combine an award-winning actress, a deliciously luxurious bag and a whole lot of cabin fever? British-born Australian actress Naomi Watts in Italian luxury Maison Fendi's latest campaign – a compact 60-second snapshot of life within the confines of her chic New York City apartment. Produced alongside Vogue Australia and in commemoration of Fendi's brand new flagship boutique in Sydney – which opens it doors this week – the campaign is a tongue-in-cheek, relatable whirlwind titled: "Wild Untamed Naomi".
Set to the raspy electro-pop track 'Beggin' by Canadian band HUMANS, the clip is an unabashed and cathartic journey which sees Watts dancing her heart out, screaming at the top of her lungs and perhaps most relatable of all – taking a bite out of an entire block of chocolate. Standard lockdown behaviour? We'd say so. Complete with a peppering of Fendi's Peekaboo ISeeU bags, the video sports a playful, unapologetic side of both the actress and the iconic accessory. “I love the colours! And it’s a classic shape that’s very functional, whether you’re travelling with it or just using it as a day to-day bag. It just works," shares Watts.
First introduced as part of the house's Fall/Winter 2021 offerings, the latest Peekaboo ISeeU features an accordion-like silhouette – a defining feature of its new design. With the option of complete personalisation – think: precious skins, leathers and even customised initials – we'd say the bag is the statement-maker of the season to beat.
