Moncler and Rick Owens Launches Their New Collab Collection
Two of the fashion industry’s most beloved fashion brands, Moncler and Rick Owens, have come together with a hotly anicipated outerwear heavy collaborative collection which has finally landed.
American designer Rick Owens is known for his black, gothic collections that has been a favourite with celebrities such as Kim Kardashian. This time, he has come together with his wife, muse and business partner Michèle Lamy for a unisex collection cantering around their lifestyle and the Moncler iconic down jacket, where some of Owen’s most iconic garments from his own label have been reimagined in Moncler’s down fabrications featuring a reimagined black-and-white Moncler logo.
A day ahead of the launch, Lamy curated a series of intimate discussions around the collection in their self-designed custom tour bus, which was first teased earlier in February. "Insulation, protection and momentum are my impressions of what Moncler stands for, and applying my aesthetic to an insulated traveling bubble was my answer to the collaborative challenge," Rick Owens said in a statement.
The Moncler x Rick Owens collection was first unveiled in Milan alongside the customised tour bus that was upholstered in Moncler’s signature duvet. The pair, Owens and Lamy, took a road trip on the bus from Los Angeles Airport to Nevada, on a visit to artist Michael Heizer’s monumental land art project, City.
