The Lacoste Fall/Winter 2026 collection brightens up even a gloomy day

Although held at the Roland-Garros stadium, the show recreated a very specific scene: the moment when tennis player and founder Ren&eacute; Lacoste's match was interrupted in 1923. The sight of players and spectators huddled under umbrellas and raincoats in the pouring rain inspired the collection.
The space is covered with tarpaulin and shrouded in mist, combined with the texture of a clay court &ndash; a type of tennis court with a surface covered with finely ground clay or crushed bricks with a characteristic reddish-orange color. Instead of recreating the climax of the match, the collection focuses on interpreting the break between the two halves &ndash; a time when all movement pauses and viewers are forced to observe their surroundings.
The collection comprises nine designs centered around familiar Lacoste pieces such as trench coats, polo shirts, and flared skirts, but with proportions adjusted to suit autumn and winter activities. Polo shirts are extended into tunics or dresses, knitwear is trimmed to distort body proportions, while tracksuits are placed under long, sharply structured coats. Placing sportswear in relation to tailored designs creates a more substantial silhouette, gradually shifting tennis attire towards the language of urban fashion.
Outerwear appeared in abundance: oversized parka jackets made of waterproof nylon, with a slightly glossy surface as if it had just been exposed to moisture &ndash; a famous Mackintosh fabric technology dating back to the 19th century.

One of the highlights of the collection lies in the design combining a loose-fitting track jacket with a pleated tennis skirt. The bodice is seamlessly connected and extends down almost to the hips, evoking the characteristic drop-waist silhouette of the 1920s, thereby creating a more streamlined body proportion within the familiar sportswear structure.
The collection's colour palette closely follows the shades of a tennis court: pale beige, moss green, and cool gray, creating a muted colour spectrum; occasionally, pastel pinks and brick reds appear scattered throughout the designs. This restraint in colour gives the entire show a tranquil and discreet feel, contrasting with the usual bright white tennis court imagery, while still maintaining an air of sophistication.

Kolotouros put together a collection that is well thought out. She retains Lacoste&rsquo;s style but makes it lighter and more contemporary. The outcome is polished, wearable and full of purpose, which is often what makes a collection linger long after the show is over.
