Tabitha Nauser on that Fashion State of Mind

Join L'Off Squad gal and singer Tabitha Nauser on her style turf, where high fashion meets street style (did someone say sneakerhead?) and big hair don't care.

Tabitha Nauser (@tabithanauser) has one of the strongest voices Singapore has heard thus far. We're not just talking about her singing, which she's great at, obviously — our L'Off Squad gal is also strong-minded, vocal and on-point when it comes to articulating her thoughts. Safe to say she's also got a great sense of self and style. "I loved the '60s twist on pieces from previous seasons. Chevron stripes, patent leather boots, kind of gives it a sporty edge too, which I love!" She's talking about Louis Vuitton's Pre-Fall 2017 collection, which she rocks in the Present Perfect fashion spread photographed by Natsuko Teruya (@natsukoteruya), in L'Officiel Singapore's June/July 2017 issue. She can be that glammed-up girl, but with a tomboy streak, as she reveals.

Lambskin and wool sweater, wool and viscose skirt, vinyl boots, and brass Hologram necklace, all Louis Vuitton Pre-Fall 2017.

What's your personal style?

My personal style is a mixture of high fashion and street wear. I love getting all dolled-up but I’m also a bit of a tomboy, so comfort is key. I think most of the time people are surprised by my outfit choices because they would never imagine the mash-up working, but it does! It gives them more confidence to be adventurous with their fashion choices.

Fashion is a huge part of your image. What are you going for on your social media platforms?

That you can be whatever you want to be, as long as your portrayal is authentic. You shouldn’t feel restricted or judged because you want to express yourself differently from other people. Just do you.

Define 'sexy'.

Sexy can be so many things, which is why I love it so much. Sexy is a state of mind. Sexy is confidence. Sexy is being comfortable in your body. Sexy is a little black dress and stilettos. Sexy is a white T-shirt and jeans. Sexy is intelligent conversation. Sexy is personal.

What are some of your favourite fashion items?

Sneakers, sneakers, sneakers.

Where do you think fashion in general is going and how do you see your style evolving?

What goes around always comes back around, especially with fashion and the arts. With that said I’m not sure what my style evolution is going to be five years from now, it’s not something I plan beforehand. But I can say that one thing will probably stay the same — sneakers!
