What better way to showcase a collection inspired by classic Americana than to have Hollywood&rsquo;s A-listers present for the show?

Closed off for a night of star-studded wonder, the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles was decorated with models parading extravagant looks from Gucci&rsquo;s from Spring/Summer 2022 Collection (including notable Hollywood actors &ndash; Macaulay Culkin and Jared Leto), entertainment&rsquo;s A-list attendees like Gwyneth Paltrow, Lizzo, Miley Cyrus, and Billie Eilish, and music by the ever-so-iconic Bj&ouml;rk.
Inspired by his own personal relationship with Hollywood back in the day, Gucci&rsquo;s Alessandro Michele embodied modern Americana and timeless Old Hollywood looks with his display of updated feather boas, grand billowing gowns, aviator glasses, cowboy hats, fitted latex, satin ensembles, lace bodysuits, and patterned Hawaiian vacation fits.&nbsp;

"Mum worked in the film industry as an assistant in a production company. I remember all the stories she told me, and the details and the sparkles, about that dream factory,&rdquo; says Michele. &ldquo;There was the alabaster paleness of Marilyn Monroe and her diaphanous voice. There were the black satin gloves of Rita Hayworth and Veronica Lake&rsquo;s velvet hair, as well as the bewitching allure of Rock Hudson and Kim Novak&rsquo;s dizzying transformative power. Everything felt like a fairy tale.&rdquo;
&ldquo;Everything seemed a fairy tale. At the time we lived on the outskirts of Rome. I needed to breathe. Those subversive tales helped me penetrate the greyness. That was my escape, my desertion. Down in that tiny dot of the world, Hollywood looked like a bright, shining star.&rdquo;

Michele even complemented the theme of Americana by having familiar faces of Hollywood &ndash; Home Alone&rsquo;s Macaulay Culkin and Suicide Squad&rsquo;s Jared Leto walk down Hollywood Boulevard in his collection. &ldquo;This boulevard of stars lends perfect support to my uncurbed love for the classical world. Hollywood is, after all, a Greek temple populated by pagan divinities,&rdquo; explains the designer.
&ldquo;Here actors and actresses are acknowledged as heroes of the myth: hybrid creatures with the power to hold divine transcendence and mortal existence at the same time, both the imaginary and the real. They are the idols of a new contemporary cosmogony, embodying a persistence of the sacred. Aphrodite, Theseus, Pandora and Medusa still live in Hollywood&rsquo;s Olympus. Beyond reach, and yet, so human.&rdquo;

Our favourite fit of the two? Culkin's glamorised and vacation-ready fit that's reminiscent of Brad Pitt's in 'Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood'.
