<p>Jonathan Anderson asks a simple question: what lies beneath a perfect reflection?</p>

<p>Begin with the setting, as it matters more than it usually does. The Tuileries is one of those Parisian spaces that makes you feel watched even when it&rsquo;s empty &mdash; the long central walkway and the stone figures stationed at intervals are designed so that seeing and being seen happen simultaneously. Louis XIV designed it this way on purpose. For his <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/live-dior-womens-fall-winter-2026-show-livestream-paris-fashion-week" title="Watch Dior Women's Fall/Winter 2026 Show Live From Paris" target="_blank" rel="noopener">second Dior ready-to-wear collection</a>, <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/diors-spring-summer-2026-collection-brings-fresh-awakenings-looks-bags-fashion-jonathan-anderson" title="Dior's Spring/Summer 2026 Collection Brings Fresh Awakenings" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jonathan Anderson</a> chose to make that dynamic obvious rather than merely atmospheric. A glass structure rose around the octagonal basin with fabricated water lilies floating on the surface. The effect was intentionally doubled: an artificial garden inside a genuine one, each reflecting the other.</p>

<p>The Mus&eacute;e de l'Orangerie is close enough to walk to in the time it takes a show to get going. Monet&rsquo;s large canvases and water lily paintings are housed in their oval rooms, and if you spend enough time in front of them, you&rsquo;ll realise that the reflections aren&rsquo;t true &mdash; they shimmer, flatten, and describe a surface rather than what&rsquo;s underneath it. Anderson was thinking in that same vein. The clothing featured tailored jackets, structural knits, and numerous variations of the Bar silhouette. With control above, below, the fabrics opened up &mdash; gauze, silk, and things that moved with a momentum of their own.<span class="Apple-converted-space">&nbsp;</span></p>
<p>What kept the collection captivating were the places in which <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/every-look-dior-jonathan-anderson-debut-haute-couture-show-spring-summer-2026-celebrities" title="Every Look From Jonathan Anderson&rsquo;s Debut Haute Couture Show for Dior" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Anderson</a> purposefully allowed something tiny to go wrong. For instance, a row of track pants buttons runs along the formal hem; a fabric that appeared to have been left out in the rain and not minded; and a shrunken suit that took inspiration from sheepskin and transformed one of fashion history&rsquo;s most loaded silhouettes into something almost nonchalant. He&rsquo;d follow one of these gestures with something utterly straight, such as a black suit with nothing to prove. The change felt deliberate. He understands what he&rsquo;s doing with the housing codes because he doesn't pretend to respect them.</p>

<p>The colours were comprised of mute greens, mild lilac, silver-grey, and a washed-out iridescence that made some of the fabrics look like they&rsquo;d been near water for a long time. The accessories were a hard sell: sculptural purses, floral hardware on shoes, and a Lady Dior that was proportionally adjusted. The creative director seemed less concerned with whatever he is working on at the Maison than he was at first.</p>
