Marking the brand&rsquo;s 170th anniversary, Daniel Lee returned to London with a Fall/Winter 2026 show that put the trench back at the center of Burberry&rsquo;s story.

Burberry closed London Fashion Week with its Fall/Winter 2026 women&rsquo;s and men&rsquo;s show, staged under the industrial arches of Old Billingsgate. For Daniel Lee, the setting carried personal meaning.&nbsp;The space was transformed into a surreal version of Tower Bridge, complete with scaffolding and pools of water, recreating the mood of the city at night. It marked a return to London after recent seasons spent in more pastoral settings.
&ldquo;I think Tower Bridge is an incredible emblem,&rdquo; Lee said backstage. &ldquo;When I first moved to London, I lived in Whitechapel, and when I felt homesick, I would walk along the river to this spot. It always made me feel better.&rdquo; The show&rsquo;s casting reflected that sense of home, with appearances from Romeo Beckham, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Sora Choi.

The Fall/Winter 2026 collection places the trench coat firmly at its center, in line with Burberry&rsquo;s 170th anniversary. Lee approached the piece with a new perspective, exploring ways to reshape its structure. Ruffles appeared along collars, fluid faille added movement, and silk poplin was reworked into pleated evening dresses worn beneath outerwear. The house&rsquo;s iconic check was also reinterpreted, &ldquo;glitched,&rdquo; as Lee described it, through coated jacquards and hand-woven constructions combining leather and viscose.
The show moved to a soundtrack by FKA twigs, reinforcing the idea of clothes designed to move easily between different moments of the day. &ldquo;We wanted to celebrate pieces that make sense for work but can also carry you through the evening, whether it&rsquo;s a premiere or a nightclub,&rdquo; Lee explained. Leather played a key role, from soft plong&eacute; tailoring to shearling trenches with raw edges and beaded embroidery that echoed the effect of rain on fabric.

Prints drawn from Burberry&rsquo;s archive, including a historic map of London, reinforced the connection to the brand&rsquo;s origins. The palette stayed grounded in deep, urban tones, ink blue, burgundy, and black, reflecting the atmosphere of the city after dark.
The front row reflected the breadth of Burberry&rsquo;s cultural reach. Guests included Burberry ambassadors like Stray Kids' Seungmin and Thailand's Bright Vachirawit as well as actors like South Korea's Lim Yoona, Jason Statham, Simone Ashley, and Stellan Skarsg&aring;rd; musicians Olivia Dean, Little Simz, and Honey Dijon. Athletes Declan Rice, Leah Williamson, and Eberechi Eze were also in attendance, alongside international guests from across film, music, and fashion.
With this show, Lee returned Burberry to its London roots, using the trench coat, the city, and its archive as the foundation for the next chapter.
