The hottest news in the fashion world is that Tom Ford is the new chairman of the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America), a role that has been occupied by Diane von Furstenberg for the last 13 years. But the news does not stop there: the board has just revealed the nominees and honorees of the 2019 CFDA Awards, which will take place on Monday, June 3 at the Brooklyn Museum.

Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giammetti will present this year's International Award to Sarah Burton for her work at Alexander McQueen. The Founder's Prize, awarded in honor of CFDA founder Eleanor Lambert, will be dedicated to Carine Roitfeld, founder and editor-in-chief of the CR Fashion Book. The Media Award will be presented to editor and writer Lynn Yaeger, while the Positive Change Award goes to Eileen Fisher for her commitment to sustainability.
