From Flaming Hearts To Syringes: A First Look At All The New Emojis Coming To Your iPhone
These days, you'd to hard pressed to find a text conversation devoid of a single emoji. Whether you're sending across a round smiley emoji or a cute animal, these emoticons are essential to the way we communicate.
Apple's iOS 14.5 update is expected in a few weeks, and with this new update comes a spanking new set of new and very current emojis. With more than 200 new emojis, the collection comes with a heightened focus on accessibility and diversity, and includes the ability to mix and match skin tones, ears with hearing aids, a guide dog, a prosthetic leg and arm, and more.
This time, Apple has also worked closely with the American Council of the Blind, the Cerebral Palsy Foundation, and the National Association of the Deaf for accurate representation.
Other exciting additions? A woman and man in a beard, a flaming heart emoji, and, as a reflection of the times, two face covering options - a medical and fabric face mask customised to feature a colour of your liking, because we are still living in a pandemic, after all.
. Check ahead to catch a glimpse of what you can expect come the new update.
