The hit Korean thriller expands its world with new international characters, explosive action and the long-awaited return of Jeong Jin-man.

The <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/culture/made-in-korea-disney-plus-unveils-ambitious-crime-drama-starring-hyun-bin-jung-woo-celebrity-news" title="Made in Korea: Disney+ Unveils Ambitious Crime Drama Starring Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Korean action thriller</a> quickly became one of the streaming platform's biggest success stories, earning widespread critical acclaim and becoming Disney+'s most-watched Korean original series worldwide.
The series captivated audiences with its gripping mix of high-stakes action, emotional storytelling and mystery. At the heart of the story is Murthehelp, a secret online weapons mall created by former mercenary Jeong Jin-man (Lee Dong-wook). After his apparent death, his only surviving relative, Jeong Ji-an (Kim Hye-jun), unexpectedly finds herself hunted by professional assassins as she uncovers the dangerous legacy he left behind.
Now, with Season 2 arriving on July 23, fans can expect the story to become even bigger. Ahead of the premiere, director Lee Kwon and the cast shared fresh details during a press conference held on July 21, teasing a larger world, new international characters and even more explosive action.

Perhaps the biggest surprise is the return of Jeong Jin-man. After viewers were led to believe he had died in the first season, Lee Dong-wook confirmed that his character's story is far from over.&nbsp;"I felt pressure when I heard Season 2 was being made," Lee admitted. "But Jin-man's mystery continues into Season 2. The action will be bigger and even more explosive than Season 1."
The new season follows Ji-an as she steps into her role as the head of Murthehelp. While the first season stayed relatively faithful to Kang Ji-young's original novel, making only a few changes, Season 2 takes the story in an entirely new direction.
Director Lee explained that the creative team wanted to explore what would happen next rather than simply adapt the source material. "The story was expanded by asking ourselves, 'What would Ji-an do here?' and 'How would Jin-man respond when he meets Ji-an again?'"
When asked to sum up the new season in a single word, Lee chose "Retaliation." "To all attacks, there is a counterattack," he explained. "I wanted to bring that phrase to life."
Season 2 also significantly expands the show's universe with the introduction of the powerful criminal organisation Babylon. The new storyline brings together an international cast, including Japanese actor Masaki Okada, best known for his role in the Oscar-winning film Drive My Car.

New characters promise to raise the stakes even further. Jung Yunha described his character, Kusanagi, as someone determined to become the "game master" who manipulates everything from behind the scenes. Hyunri, meanwhile, plays Q, a ruthless and highly skilled assassin whose icy exterior hides a more caring side, particularly towards her younger brother.
Director Lee praised the dedication of the new cast throughout production. He highlighted Okada's effortless charisma, Hyunri's commitment to physical training and Jung Yunha's nuanced portrayal of Kusanagi's brutality and emotional depth.
Okada, who plays elite mercenary J, revealed that much of his character evolved during filming through close collaboration with the director. The result is a stylish assassin who approaches combat with confidence and even a sense of fun. "Every day, I learned that action is not simply about movement, but can also become a form of dialogue," Okada said. "It was an incredibly valuable opportunity."
Kim Hye-jun also teased a major transformation for Ji-an. No longer the frightened young woman audiences first met, she now chooses to fight back after realising that remaining passive only puts the people around her in greater danger. "The second season is about Ji-an striking back after she realises that if things continue as they are, everyone around her will get hurt," Kim explained.
Fans can also look forward to more demanding action sequences that reflect Ji-an's growth, resilience and determination to survive.

Of course, the conversation eventually turned to the possibility of a third season. While Disney+ has yet to officially announce a renewal, director Lee admitted that the idea has certainly crossed his mind, although the final decision ultimately rests with the streaming platform.
Lee Dong-wook, however, left little doubt about where he stands. In a playful moment during the press conference, he pointed to the Disney+ logo on his microphone, making it clear that he would happily return if given the opportunity.
If Season 2 delivers on everything the cast and creators have promised, fans will no doubt be hoping that announcement comes sooner rather than later.
