Following the completion of their mandatory military service, BTS are officially gearing up for a major comeback in spring 2026—complete with a new album and a global tour.

The news was confirmed by their agency HYBE on 2 July 2025, sending waves of excitement through the group’s global fanbase. The announcement followed an emotional live stream the previous evening on Weverse, where BTS leader RM revealed the plans to over 7.3 million simultaneous viewers—a record for the group. “Our album will officially be released next spring,” RM announced, adding there would “obviously” be a world tour, reaffirming the group's deep connection with their fanbase, known as ARMY.

This marks BTS’s first major project since Proof in 2022, and their first as a reunited group after completing their national service duties. The members will reconvene in the United States this summer to begin work on the new album.

At the height of their influence, BTS contributed an estimated 0.2% to South Korea’s GDP—an extraordinary figure that reflects their status not just as artists but as a global economic and cultural force. Since debuting in 2013, they have consistently pushed boundaries and reshaped the global music landscape.

Their return is more than a comeback; it's a moment the entire K-pop industry has been waiting for—an event poised to reinvigorate the scene and set a new benchmark for global pop acts.
