His name is Alexander Zverev, he’s 19 and he’s a friend of Richard Mille. Here are three things to know about the Hamburg tennis prodigy.

1. Known affectionately as Sascha, the teenage athlete is well on his way to sporting superstardom (think among the ranks of Nadal, Federer and Djokovic). Zverev, who was coached by his father and started playing at the age of five, clinched a spot amid the top 100 players in his field two years ago – the youngest player to have ever climbed that high.

2. Zverev, who’s right-handed, is one of the newest to join Richard Mille’s squad of top and fast-rising professional athletes such as German dressage rider Jessica von Bredow-Werndl and Italian golfer Diana Luna.

3. A great tennis player needs an equally outstanding watch. It needs to be light (in order to not hinder swift arm movements) and be robust enough to withstand powerful motions. Zverev’s choice – the carbon-nanotube RM 27-01 (fun fact: it weighs only 18.83g) – meets all those criteria
