IWC honours the 2016 F1 champion with a special edition Ingenieur Chronograph timepiece

1955 saw the debut of the Ingenieur, a striking design that combined IWC Schaffhausen&#39;s passion for engineering with rugged sportiness and an undeniably technical appeal. Several decades and iterations later, the legacy of the Ingenieur continues &ndash; this time, with a timepiece dedicated to a reigning Formula One champion.

Hot on the heels of Nico Rosberg&#39;s crowning as the 2016 F1 world champion, IWC has unveiled a special edition Ingenieur Chronograph model, the <a href="https://www.iwc.com/en/watch-collections/ingenieur/iw380805-ingenieur-chronograph-edition-tribute-to-nico-rosberg-.html" target="_blank">&ldquo;Tribute to Nico Rosberg&rdquo;</a>. Designed by Rosberg himself in collab&shy;oration with IWC Creative Director&nbsp;Christian Knoop, the in-house chronograph features an 18-carat red gold case, a&nbsp;slate-coloured dial,&nbsp;grey calfskin straps, and a transparent sapphire-glass back, which bears the recognisable&nbsp;&ldquo;Nico&quot; lettering from his helmet.

Only 23 pieces of the Ingenieur Chronograph &ldquo;Tribute to Nico Rosberg&rdquo; are available worldwide &ndash; to mark the total number of Grand Prix wins Rosberg has garnered in his F1 career.
