Glam Rebel: Bulgari SS2020 Leather Goods And Accessories
Bulgari set the scene for Spring/Summer 2020 at Milan Fashion Week with its new Leather Goods and Accessories collection. Themed 'Glam Rebel', it focuses on reimagining the brand's iconic Serpenti bag, with updates like new colours, chains, geometrical patterns, studs, and more.
Chains adorn several models, including the Serpenti Forever Chain Pavé, Serpenti Forever Graphic Chain Pavé, Serpenti Diamond Blast Whispy Chain, and Serpenti Diamond Blast Micro. The bags feature Bulgari's iconic diamond pattern, and can be carried over-the-shoulder or cross-body, even as a belt-bag in the case of the Micro.
Gems are another highlight of the collection, with Bulgari releasing the new Serpenti Forever Gem Python. An edgy combination - as precious as gems - of smooth black calfskin and back-cut python skin with a metallic finish, it's topped off with a handle embellished with multi-shaped onyx and mother-of-pearl jewelled studs. The brand also unveils the classy Serpenti Forever Gem Calf Leather in Rosa di Francia, that features hexagonal scale-inspired onyx studs and mother-of-pearl.
The collectioni also gives Serpenti models a touch of sparkle. Check out the Serpenti Forever Crystal Galuchat coated in glitter in Flash Amethyst, Serpenti Diamond Blast Metallic Karung that shines (in either black or white) with Quilted Metallic Karung, and the versatile Serpenti Micro Cabochon that comes in an array of skins. This season's standout piece, the Serpenti Forever Ice Glam Python, is accomplished through a process including skin decolouring and UV prints to create contrast.
The new season also makes way for passionate and vibrant reds, making a striking appearance on the new Serpenti Cabochon Backpack, that features oblique cabochon quilting inspired by Bulgari's signature cabochon-cut. Both luxurious and practical - not to mention extremely soft - the backpack made a red hot debut, with white and black calfskin versions following after. Red also makes appearances on other models - alluringly on the Serpenti Cabochon style, as an iridescent shade on the Serpenti Forever Eclectic Python, in ruby red on the Serpenti Diamond Blast, and making for a modern yet nostalgic style in Flash Amethyst and Carmine Jasper Calf Leather on the classy Serpenti Forever bucket bag.
The collection also showcases handmade butterfly embellishments inspired by Bulgari's heritage tremblant brooches. They are seen on the Serpenti Forever Butterfly Flow, adding a lively touch to 2 iconic Serpenti Forever bags, the classic cross-body with snakehead stud closure and cross-body with top-handle. In the same free spirit, an array of colours adorn the Serpenti Forever Neon Python, the Serpenti Forever Psyche Python, and the Serpenti Forever Cloud Galuchat.

Bulgari's new Eyewear Collection takes on the spirit of the B.Zero1, and the ever versatile and transformative Serpenti. '90s-esque cat-eye frames and unique models - like the B.Zero1 B.superbright - have a large square frame cut to feature the Bulgari icon's sharp curve. The B.superpilot style, on the other hand, features a half-rimmed frame and striped temples. Bulgari also premieres new Serpenti styles, including the Serpenti Back-to-scale model.
