Saint Laurent Launches the Supple Sac de Jour
Consider this the first handbag release from newly minted Saint Laurent creative director Anthony Vaccarello. The Supple Sac de Jour is a reworked version of the brand’s iconic structured leather bag that will be released with the French house’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection.
That SS17 collection, if you remember, was Vaccarello’s debut for Saint Laurent. It featured, among other things, a great big YSL statue out front at the venue, stilettos with the iconic Adolphe Mouron Cassandre logo as the heel and a glorious nipple pasty moment on the catwalk.
The Supple Sac de Jour, as hinted by its name, is a softer and more malleable sibling to the original, and will feature the same streamlined and contemporary design hallmarks: front belt, accordion sides, brass padlock and all. This new version comes in grained calfskin or crocodile embellished with micro studs and a subtle metal nameplate. Fans of softer bags will appreciate the sleek design and comfortable slouch of the Supple.
