The senior fashion market editor spills on her style must-haves and favourite trends of the season, as well as the brands to look out for on Net-a-Porter this year

Which was your favourite collection from Spring/Summer 2020, and why?

I loved Khaite from <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/2019-cfda-awards-nominees-honorees-list">Cate Holstein</a>. What she&#39;s done as a designer is clever in that she built her commercial business with great jeans and knitwear, and now her runway collections are more experimental. It felt quite unexpected, a shift away from the more easy way of dressing she was championing, and that was beautiful.&nbsp;

What are some trends you&#39;re looking forward to wearing this year?

What I love is that all the collections feel more wearable and effortless. I love the return to the &#39;90s, the graphic monochrome hues, and the different personalities that the suit took on this season. Lastly, the idea of tropic thunder&nbsp;&mdash; I think <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/jlo-versace-ad-ss20">J.Lo</a> closing the show at Versace in that dress was quite a moment.

What are some other brands to look out for this year?

We&#39;ve got up to 70 new brands on Net-a-Porter. One of my favourites is Tove&nbsp;&mdash; the two designers are ex-buyers so they really understand fabric, fit, and the way a woman should feel. Alexandra Golovanoff is doing gorgeous cashmere sweaters that feel like wearing a giant hug. She&#39;s an example of brands that are doing one thing and doing it very well. I personally love Martin Martin, a brand that&#39;s doing something new in evening wear.&nbsp;

Which is the brand you&#39;re most obsessed with at the moment, and why?

Probably Frankie Shop. The brand does an amazing job at getting quality and design at a really good price point. The blazer shape and fit is perfectly slouchy and easy. More in luxury, <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/loewe-s-latest-cushion-tote-is-a-cult-accessory-to-love">Loewe</a>. The whole world of it has been executed so beautifully&nbsp;&mdash; very easy but interesting and fashion-forward.&nbsp;

What are some of your style must-haves?

<a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/wise-choice-the-investment-pieces-to-buy-now-and-wear-practically-forever">Tailoring</a>. A <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/the-spy-who-loved-me-max-mara-spring-summer-2020">short suit</a>. A tall boot as well, which I love wearing with a short suit. A tank top and a roll neck, anything that feels fitted to the body that you can layer. And lastly, a <a href="https://www.lofficielsingapore.com/fashion/here-comes-the-sun-louis-vuitton-s-spring-summer-2020-accessories-collection">neck scarf</a>. I feel properly dressed when I put on a little neck scarf.&nbsp;
