Matthew M. Williams, founder of 1017 ALYX 9SM and creative director of Parisian house Givenchy has just announced a business partnership with well-known Hong Kong entrepreneur Adrian Cheng. "I am excited to embark on this journey to cultivate talent and contribute to the evolution of the fashion industry," said Cheng in a press release. "1017 ALYX 9SM, under the creative direction of Matthew Williams, embodies the spirit of innovation that I support with passion." The Hong Kong entrepreneur is recognised globally for leading various industries and sees this investment as confirmation of his confidence in transforming the fashion system. CEO of New World Development Company Limited and heir to a powerful Asian corporate dynasty, Adrian Cheng is a globally renowned cultural entrepreneur, behind projects such as Victoria Dockside and Kai Tak Sports Park. In addition to being a generous patron of the arts with international recognition in 2023, he was appointed chairman of the Mega Arts and Cultural Events Committee by the Hong Kong government.
