While Gucci skipped Milan Fashion Week this year, its next collection is not so far off. Aside from the regular fanfare a new collection from the Italian fashion house often creates, this next presentation has a few extra reasons to tune in: it's Gucci's first show in its 100th year of existence, and it's rumored that the brand will be unveiling a collaboration with Balenciaga.
Alessandro Michele and Demna Gvasalia, creative directors of Gucci and Balenciaga respectively, are two of the most watched minds in fashion. Michele is responsible for Gucci's best-selling maximalist signature, and Gvasalia made waves in the fashion world as head designer for Vetements before taking his conceptual and ironic designs to Balenciaga. Both Kering brands have also removed themselves from the Milan and Paris calendars, adding fuel to the rumor mill's fire.
The collection, named Aria, is set to be revealed via a short film on April 15. Tune in here at 9pm, Singapore time to watch the livestream.
