Gucci, according to Alessandro Michele, is an irreverent multifaceted universe. The lines between the real and the imaginary are constantly blurred under his creative direction, building daring visual narratives by reinventing the creative language of the brand that turns 100 this year.
On this occasion, the house considers what a talk show would be like according to Gucci and the result is: "Beloved Show". Of course, the late-night TV talk show has become a pop culture fixture – transporting famous faces into our homes, often with a dash of fashion fantasy mixed in with some light-hearted banter for good measure. Now for Gucci, a string of well-known stars, including Harry Styles, actress and comedian Awkwafina, actress and filmmaker Dakota Johnson, acting legend Diane Keaton, professional athlete and businesswoman Serena Williams and actress Sienna Miller, join host James Corden on the set of the Beloved Show, to talk about their latest adventures – and their beloved handbags.
The bags featured are part of the four Gucci Beloved Lines, a reference to the House's past and the way it defines its now, and each is designed by Alessandro Michele with a contemporary approach to archival elements. “I truly love and adore my handbags,” says Alessandro Michele. “Perhaps they will always be my greatest love, my favourite accessory. It was therefore natural for me to call some of the ones I created ‘Beloved’. The name comes from my own personal experience and my love for them.”
