There's no question about it: Givenchy's Spring/Summer 2019 show was one of the standout presentations of Paris Fashion Week. Inspired by German journalist Annemarie Schwarzenbach, creative director Clare Waight Keller showcased a beautiful collection titled "I Am Your Mirror" that blurred the lines between womenswear and menswear.
Channeling Schwarzenbach's androgynous spirit, the female models donned tailored tuxedo jackets and cargo pants that only a skilled Haute Couture atelier could craft so elegantly. The interplay of gender codes was also seen on the men's looks, which consisted of outerwear subtly embroidered with silver flowers.
These pieces come to life in a new video shot by photographer Lea Colombo. Sharing the same title as the collection, the short film shows models posing within a shadowy landscape, where light occasionally reflects off their embellished clothing. Watch and be mesmerized:
