Although plans tend to change these days in light of the pandemic, could you share what you’ll be busy with in 2021?
2020 was a year where our plans and rhythm of life were constantly changing. It was a good opportunity for self-reflection. In 2021, my focus will still be on my career as an actor – creating roles, and performing them. As for beauty and skincare, I will continue working hard and trying new things with my line. At the same time, I’ll pay more attention to being with my family and taking care of myself.
What are some of your favourite fashion pieces now that comfort and ease are even more important?
With fashion, I don’t like to limit myself. I like to try all kinds of looks and play with different styles. I don’t really have a set standard, and I like to follow my own vision, so after I consult my team, I always make my own choices.
In terms of beauty, what are your essentials now?
I think the most important thing is your state of mind. Try to maintain a positive outlook for happiness and health; don’t get too caught up in your emotions. Secondly, get enough sleep – this is so important to both physical and mental health. And of course, find a skincare routine that is suitable for you and keep up with it. Keep using those face masks, and don’t be lazy!
Your upcoming Hollywood film, The 355, is being released in 2022. Is there anything at all that you can tell us about the movie or your cast mates, Jessica Chastain, Lupita Nyong’o, Penélope Cruz, and Diane Kruger?
The 355 is about finding a female perspective and representing female strength. The story is about a team of secret agents – a group of women from different countries, coming together to save the world. At the same time, these women raise families and have children, and continue to love their careers and do not make any compromises. My cast mates are my role models. I am so honoured to be able to work with these outstanding actresses from all over the world.
In the time of the pandemic, is there anything you have learnt about yourself or the world around us?
With the time I’ve had for self-reflection, and everything I’ve experienced, I’ve realised that you just never know what unexpected things tomorrow might bring. It’s important to live for today; treasure the present and do what you most want to do, and spend time with family – these are the most important things.
February is a month of celebrations with the Lunar New Year and Valentine’s Day. How will you spend these moments?
If possible, I will definitely choose to spend the time with my family. These types of holidays are meant to be spent with family. Eating a big meal together, chatting and spending time together are what makes a happy holiday.
