See All the Looks from the Dior Fall 2021 Show in Shanghai
Inspired by the energetic Disco spirit, and mixed with the sophistication and depth of Pop art, Dior's Fall 2021 collection brings powerful visual effects, movement and light in every look that went down the runway - no surprise given the constant creative vigour of the fashion house, as well as its knack for honoring different women and cultures. Dior's presence at Shanghai Fashion Week this year as guest of honour is the affirmation of that.
The designs in the collection reinterpret a wide range of Dior themes from the house's archives, merging with the aesthetic spirit of pop art, referencing English artist Richard Hamilton's take on Pop Art to visual artist Marco Lodola's New Futurism. Mr. Dior's iconic leopard print jacket is a stand-out, combined with other styles ranging from chiffon dresses to casual pants to Book Tote bags.
The sequinned outfits sparkled on the disco stage in a variety of reflective colors - blue, red, pink, gold, and silver, with large circular sequins resembling sparkling disco balls. Metallics continue to appear throughout the pieces including jumpsuits, vests and jackets.
Headgear is key to the collection, with beret hats and caps. And get ready to rush for those logo-emblazoned, varsity-style white socks when they hit stores.
