The Dior Saddle Bag is Back
At her Fall/Winter 2018 collection, Maria Grazia Chiuri brought back yet another beloved classic from the Dior archives: the Saddle bag. For fans of John Galliano and pop culture enthusiasts alike, this noughties It-bag needs no introduction.
The Saddle bag's iconic status, though, is credited to its celebrity fans. In the 2000s, that meant Paris Hilton, Sienna Miller and Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker. More recently, the bag's stamp of approval was renewed by the likes of Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner and even Beyoncé.
It goes without saying that Dior's new collection of Saddle bags is sure to spawn yet another generation of fans. Amongst the new designs is a version featuring a '70s-inspired patchwork inscribed with the phrase "Peace and Love Dior", while another is constructed with Dior's iconic Oblique jacquard canvas.
The best part? The Saddle bag can now be worn as a crossbody bag, thanks to Dior's new range of detchable straps that are sold separately. Just like the bags themselves, the straps are heavily decorated with fringes, embroidery and metallic details. Way to show off the Maison's exceptional craftsmanship.
