Comme des Garçons is set to launch a new online brand, reports WWD. According to the publication, Comme des Garçons' chief executive officer Adrian Yoffe shared the plans at a private party at the opening of the recently re-branded Dover Street Market Beijing on March 30.
The website, which will be unveiled in July, is a first for the cult Japanese fashion house. While there aren't many details about the new platform yet, one thing's for sure: it will not stray much from the CDG DNA. That's because the label's highly revered founder, Rei Kawakubo, is currently designing the website herself.
The new project will be the 18th brand in Commes des Garçons' portfolio, which already includes diffusion labels such as Noir, Homme, Plus, Shirt and Play. Following the online launch, a "simple" collection for men and women will be released as well.
