Gwyneth Paltrow Sparks Health Outcry Over Her Covid Cure Diet
The NHS (National Health Service) personally asked Gwyneth Paltrow to stop promoting misinformation after she suggested that covid-19 can be treated with "intuitive fasting", herbal cocktails and visits to an "infrared sauna".
The entrepreneur and owner of Goop explained in her last blog post that she started her own treatment after getting COVID-19 and suffering from "long tail fatigue and brain confusion". She received medical advice that "this was a case where the road to healing would be longer than normal", so she embarked on her own personal remedies.
So she started a keto, plant-based diet, fasting until 11 am every day and then consuming lots of sugar-free coconut, kombucha and kimchi amino acids, she wrote.
Despite claims of doing her due research, the NHS warned against her advice and asked influencers to stop spreading incorrect information. Professor Stephen Powis, NHS England's national medical director, said: “In the past few days, I saw Gwyneth Paltrow, unfortunately, suffering from the effects of Covid. We wish her all the best, but some of the solutions she recommends are not really the solutions we would recommend on the NHS ”, according to an article published in the Guardian.
He continued: “We need to take Covid seriously and apply serious science. All influencers who use social media have a duty of responsibility and a duty to take care of that. Like the virus, misinformation crosses borders, mutates and evolves. So I think YouTube and other social media platforms have real responsibilities and opportunities here. ”
