We’ve all been there — short, stray hairs refusing to stay in place once you’re out of the house. After much fuss taming your hair in the morning, this minor blip in your appearance has the potential for you to go from put-together to unruly in seconds.

No one likes having flyaway strands ruining a perfectly good hairstyle, but without the help of styling products, how else can one tackle this problem? The answer is simple: Dyson Supersonic™’s latest flyaway attachment. Designed to harness the Coanda effect, this semi-circular curve tool pushes stray hairs under your longer strands and vanishes them from sight.

According to hair experts, getting rid of flyaways is often a two-person job without the help of Dyson’s new attachment. The task requires hairdressers to brush underneath a section of hair while simultaneously blowdrying over it to push rogue strands under. “Our engineers are driven to rethink convention, and our obsession with airflow led us to push the potential of Coanda after observing how stylists use a ‘brush and blow dryer’ technique to smooth flyaways,” explains Emma Sheldon, Dyson Hair Care Category Director, “We set out to find a way to innovate a way to mechanise this method for the everyday styler.”

With Dyson, people can do the same in the comfort of their own homes by themselves and without extreme heat. “We want our clients to now be able to get that same glossy finish at home. Dyson’s latest attachment does exactly that – it allows smooth seekers to get a super sleek finish, on their own, not just from the salon,” says Dyson Global Styling Ambassador Jen Atkin.

The tool is designed to style different types of hair, though it is recommended to be used on thoroughly dried, pre-styled, straight or straightened hair to truly give you that pristine look. Start from your roots and blow-dry downwards, keeping it 90 degrees from the surface of your hair at all times. If you have finer hair, it’s advisable to use no heat when styling. And for best results? Keep your speed at maximum.

The flyway attachment is compatible with all Dyson Supersonic™ models and will retail at SGD 49 individually and SGD 599 together with the machine.
